Year in review 2014 – Top Five Moments
2014 was another big year for SysGen. Between reaching new heights, firing it up at the office, and supporting our community, it’s been quite an adventure. With this year’s success in close view, we bring you the top five moments of 2014:
5. In the spotlight
There’s No Problem Too Small for SysGen! Advantage Magazine featured SysGen’s IT support beyond the network in the “The Innovators” section of its fall 2014 issue. The article gives the backstory on how our company moved beyond the help desk model to provide personalized IT service with SysGen Founder, President, and CEO, Lyle Richardet. We’re honored to have been featured in this fine publication.
4. Firing it up
In early October, an underground electrical fire broke out in downtown Calgary. Companies within a 17 block radius on the west side of the downtown core were in a blackout zone for five business days. Over 10,000 workers were affected by the outage, and businesses without IT support and business continuity plans were left out of commission.
SysGen’s IT team fired it up at the office to bring clients back into the business. Between working overtime, late nights, and weekends, SysGen provided support beyond the network. Thanks to our technicians’ hard work, SysGen IT Solutions went beyond all expectations to surpass client needs. We’re still in awe of our wonderful IT staff!
3. United for YYC
This year marked SysGen’s second annual United Way Campaign. Over the two-week fundraiser, SysGen employees proved their dedication to the Calgary community by becoming jocks, nerds, and cowboys, in addition to joining in a pumpkin carving competition and a silent auction. The second annual United Way Campaign marked a huge success for SysGen. Participation reached 41% and we exceeded fundraising goals by more than doubling last year’s total at $6,234!
Not only does SysGen help the community, but we also support our employees and their families too.
When one employee’s stepson got involved in a high school robotics club, SysGen stepped up to help the team make it to the regional competition. By sponsoring the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition, SysGen inspired students to become science and technology leaders.
2. Taking it to the next level
In 2014, SysGen Solutions Group made the PROFIT 500 list with five-year revenue growth of 242%.
SysGen ranked No. 233 in the 2014 PROFIT 500, the definitive ranking of Canada’s Fastest-Growing Companies. This is the second consecutive year SysGen has been listed in the PROFIT 500 – only this year, SysGen moved up 51 rankings and increased revenue growth by 38%!
“SysGen is honored to be on the PROFIT 500 ranking for the second year in a row,” says SysGen’s President and CEO Lyle Richardet. “This achievement reflects the continuing evolution of our business and the strength of our team.”
1. Introducing…The SysGen Experience
This year, SysGen Solutions Group announced the unveiling of our 8 Guiding Principles, collectively referred to as The SysGen Experience.
The SysGen Experience is a philosophy or way of life for our business. It guides everything we do and represents who we are as employees, who we are to clients, and who SysGen is as a company. The SysGen Experience is all about surpassing expectations by providing reliable and responsive IT services while remaining dedicated to innovation and accessible expertise.
That’s a wrap for SysGen’s top five moments of 2014! Over the past year, SysGen has shared a great deal of success with our clients, partners, employees, and community. It will be hard to outdo ourselves in 2015, but we’re confident that we can continue to deliver IT support beyond the network with your patronage. In the meantime, we wish you all a safe and happy holiday season!
